Games
Internet Games
On the Internet I mainly play MUDs and Free
Civilisation II. In case you want to play on-line games through a firewall
you can use my telnet
client, which is quite unlike all the other ones out there. It is now running
24 hours a day, and part of Mosha. I also
play video games, and recently installed linux on my Playstation
2 (PS2), and wrote a multiplayer adventure game on it. I'm now building
my own computer using the PICmicro.
Roleplaying
I used to play many roleplaying games, ranging from ICE's Rolemaster to White
Wolf's Ars Magica, but don't do so at the moment.
I hope to pick it all up some
time, though.
Also, there is the `live roleplaying' which can be done with the
SCA. I used to be with the VCA,
which is the dutch part of the SCA, and continued with the SCA in Rochester for
the first few years. I then switched to the
Jaycees, a volunteer organisation. I'm currently
secretary of our chapter, and CPG program manager of New York State.
Collectable trading card games
What I do at the moment are mostly collectible trading card
games, I know, they're not roleplaying... But the link was called `games',
wasn't it? Here are some of the links to some of the trading card games that
I used to do...
The Star Trek the next generation collectable trading card
game, which I started playing because of a good friend of mine who was
interested in Star Trek. I then got interested in the game, and through that
in Star Trek itself... I also have an interest in Tolkien, and when ICE decided
to start the Middle Earth: The
Wizards game, I had to buy it. So I played that as well. As the Tolkien sons
withdrew the license to ICE to make more profit of the movie, this card game
is now unfortunately dead.
I also played Jyhad (Vampire, the Eternal Struggle), the second
game that the Wizards of the Coast brought out. I once visited them, and I got
a deck from them.
Travelling
I like travelling, and went to India several times. I wrote stories about these
trips: 1 2
3 4 and 5.
Other fun things
I also like to walk, volleyball (though I stopped
doing
that, except for an occasional play at Hotshots with the Jaycees), and figure
skating (my heroine
is Kristi Yamaguchi, who unfortunately
turned professional and is therefore less on Dutch television.I did see her
in 1996 in Wisconsin, though, and in 2004 in Rochester, of all places, where
she was a guest star in Smucker's Stars on Ice).
LEGO
I'm still a kid, so I still play with LEGO...
