Hilversum

Hilversum is the media city of the Netherlands: everything that has to do with television, radio or movies comes to Hilversum. This is because Hilversum is the center of the Netherlands, so from a broadcasting perspective (when radio and television still used the ether to transfer information) it was an ideal location. I, however, didn't go there for the media, but for the telephones... I worked there for almost six years at Lucent Technologies. Hilversum is a very nice town, with many restaurants and very few students. It is also within 35 km distance of Amsterdam, and only 15 minutes (by train) from Utrecht, which is the center of all rail roads and a place where you do find those students that aren't in Hilversum.
