Music
There are two important aspects to music: making it and listening to it.
Making music
The only instrument that I learned to play is the piano, but I can do that
reasonably well. I also spent one year learning harmonics, so I can improvise
a little bit and compose my own songs. That I do rarely, and if I do it, I
don't use the piano but my keyboard/computer set-up. Currently I'm practicing
to play Debussy's Clair de Lune (but it isn't progressing much).
My computer set-up uses a CS1x synthesizer and a ordinary soundcard. This
works rather well, and isn't very expensive, I like the analogue possibilities
of the CS1x.
I wish I had money for a real drum-computer, a Vintage Keys MIDI-module
and a DAT-recorder, but well, I'll just have to wait
and dream a little longer...
Listening to music
I like Björk and Kate Bush, and listen to U96
at the moment. You might deduce a preference for house-like music, but I also
like Prokofiev, Rimsky-Korsakov and Mussorgsky. Well, a 20th century Russian
composer lover, you might think, but then I switch over to ELO, Pink Floyd...
In short, I like many kinds of music, and am not hesitant to try other, new
things.
